Esme is an oversized, super cozy and relaxed maxi cardigan. Esme features a chunky button closure, large in-seam front pockets, dropped shoulders and rolled-up cuffs that emphasize the casual and carefree look.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Recommended fabrics: Choose a medium weight or heavy fabric with 20 – 40% stretch. For example terry, sweatshirt jersey or a heavier teddy or cable knit. Be careful with fabrics that are very drapey and soft, as they might make the pockets look untidy. In such case, consider omitting the front pockets. For the pocket bags, pick a medium weight, sturdy knit fabric that matches your main fabric. Ponte is a great choice, but make sure your pocket bag fabric isn’t heavier than the main fabric. You can also use your main fabric for the pocket bags. Our sample was made of a very heavy cable knit, and ponte for the pocket bags.
Notions: Pocket bag fabric, 25 cm (1/4 yd), Fusible knit interfacing, 145 cm (1 5/8 yd), Stay tape, 155 cm (1 ¾ yd), Large buttons, 5 pcs
Sizes: XS-XXL
